The Bridge of Lions temporary bridge could not be closed for concrete
placement as scheduled Sunday night, December 16th, due to the extreme cold
weather. The concrete placement has been rescheduled for tomorrow night,
Wednesday, December 19, 2007. The bridge will be completely closed to all
motorist traffic for 12 hours beginning at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday evening,
December 19, 2007 and ending at 6:00 a.m. Thursday morning, December 20,
2007.

The bridge will not be closed to marine traffic. However, marine traffic may
be slightly delayed during the night as construction barges shift throughout
the area.

This closure is necessary to accommodate a large placement of concrete
beneath one of the Bridge of Lions' piers at the channel. Motorists are
advised to use the SR 312 bridge as an alternate route. Pedestrians are
advised to avoid the area.
